Volunteer: Young Peacebuilders Human Resource Associate

 

Start Date:  As soon as possible

Hours:  10-15 hours weekly to be agreed

Location:  Anywhere with good communications & Internet


What Young Peacebuilders (YP) Does

YP develops partnerships, research, projects, and tools that nurture peacebuilding passion and skill in children and youth with a focus on contexts impacted by armed conflict. In this way YP helps prevent and end cycles of violence. We also help design effective child and youth peacebuilding projects and research for others. We want to see a major shift in the dominant method of addressing contemporary conflicts toward investing in young people as peacebuilders.


Description

The Human Resources Associate is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, application, and hiring process for all YP staff. The HR Associate also works with the Program Director to place volunteers in positions appropriate for their current skill level and desired role.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain updated job requirements and job descriptions for all positions

  • Create and post job announcements, be familiar with and able to post to variety of job sites, create and manage Google forms applications

  • Recruit candidates and  review all incoming applications, check references, and make applicant recommendations based on current needs of YP

  • Manage new hire processes (including, but not limited to new hire forms, email setup, file sharing), manage exit interviews

  • Review human resource policies and procedures and recommend changes as needed

  • Maintain human resource records

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


Minimum Qualifications

  • Regular access to the Internet

  • Highly organized

  • Google Drive experience with documents, spreadsheets, and forms

  • Extremely trustworthy

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication

  • Ability to work remotely

  • Disciplined independent worker
